hungry otters
Perth Zoo, Western Australia Canon EOS 350D, 70-200mm f/4L @200mm, 1/320 sec, f/4, ISO400
It can be worthwhile to re-visit old photos, as it allows you to find photos that you didn't previously post-process,
as well as giving you an opportunity to have another go at post-processing.
Over the years, I've improved my post-processing and learnt a lot of new techniques, so I will often approach the
post-processing differently now than how I would have years ago.
These Asian Small-clawed Otters at the Perth Zoo were photographed just over 12 years ago, in 2007,
using a Canon 350D DSLR and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L.
The 8 megapixel 350D was released in 2005, and I bought it new in May 2006 and used it for a few years before
upgrading to a Canon 50D.
I originally post-processed some of these photos in 2007,
and the three photos in this post are the result of re-editing the photos.
Do you ever browse through your old photos, looking for photos that you haven't previously post-processed,
or photos that you might want to re-edit?

Here are a few more photos from a visit to Lesmurdie Falls last week.
I really enjoy looking for different wildflowers, and photographing them.

Butterfly on Everlasting Flower
Lesmurdie Falls National Park, Western Australia Canon EOS 50D, 24-105mm f/4L IS @105mm, 1/1250 sec, f/5.6, ISO100
Spring is definitely here. While walking at Lesmurdie Falls, we saw a lot of flowers,
including many of the everlastings like the ones shown here.
The bees and butterflies were out in force, making the most of them!

darter in front of the Crawley Edge Boatshed
Crawley, Western Australia, 2008-01-03 Canon EOS 350D, 10-22mm @22mm, 1/125 sec, f/4.5, ISO200
The Crawley Edge Boatshed is apparently one of the most photographed locations in Perth,
and it has recently been getting more media attention, as it is now also
one of the most popular selfie locations around Perth
(ref:
abc.net.au,
theconversation.com).
As a result of its popularity, the City of Perth is intending to spend AUD$400,000 on public toilets
in the near vicinity of the boatshed
(ref:
thewest.com.au,
PerthNow.com.au,
news.com.au).
I have photographed the boatshed multiple times, including:
- photowalk on 3 January 2008 (photos)
- photowalk on 14 November 2008 (photos,
blog post)
- photowalk on 16 July 2011 (photos)
- wedding on 1 October 2011 (photo)
- photo walk on 19 April 2014 (photos)

Last month I had the privilege of shooting the wedding of one of my nieces.
I enjoy capturing special occasions and memories, and weddings are always a special day
for a couple and their families.
The groom managed to leave the wedding rings at home before the church ceremony,
and only realised just before the service started.
As the groom didn't live far from the church, the rings were sourced in time for the ring exchange
later in the ceremony!
Here is a selection of photos from the day.
