discussion, gear, and photography journal
Martin
My name is Martin (aka martybugs or mpot), and I've started this blog as a means to share some of my photos. I also intend to post some articles, reviews and tutorials on various topics relating to photography.

I am located in Western Australia, use Canon DSLR cameras and Canon lenses, and have been actively pursuing digital photography as a hobby for a number of years. In recent years, I have been enjoying teaching my children more about photography.

While I've been publishing photos in my gallery for some time already, this blog provides me with a mechanism to share some of my photos, provide some commentary on those photos, as well as publish some photography gear reviews and tutorials.

Hi Martin
I found your blog in researching an error 99 with my canon lens 17-85mm, which seems to be a not uncommon fault with these lenses. Your blog directed me to a man in Brisbane, Peter Parnell, who has successfully fixed a number of these, and most recently mine as well, for a cost of $95 plus postage, much cheaper than canon could do and I would wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone with a similar lens problem.

Thankyou Martin for your blog, and to Peter for his expertise and great service
Paul

@Paul: Thanks for the feedback.

I'm glad to hear you have your 17-85mm lens repaired, and I'm happy that my blog helped to put you in contact with Peter Parnell in Brisbane.

It's stories like yours that make the time and effort I put into my website worthwhile ;-)
