Footprints on Cottesloe beach, just before sunset.
Photos of footprints on the beach often make me think of the well-known "Footprints In The Sand" poem.
Interestingly, there's some disagreement about the original author of this poem. The text below is what is believed to be the original version, written in 1936 by Mary Stevenson.
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?"
The Lord replied, "The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you."

First, I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!! This poem inspires me every time I read it. I actually didn't believe what people said about the power of prayer until I was in a time of need. When I first read this poem to my fiance he almost cried because we are at a very low point in our life right now and he says he can't seem to get God to hear him. we currently have to stay with his brother because we lost our house, no car because it's broke down and a 13 year old daughter who only received a couple gifts from us this year. So I will continue to Pray for the help of others as well as the Good Lord on helping us through this rough time. Thank you, Autumn
