It had been a hot summer day, and as shown by the multitude of footprints in the sand, many people had come to the lake for a swim.
Some people stayed in the water until well after sunset.

The colour version of this photo wasn't particularly interesting, but this duotone conversion, IMHO, is much more striking and interesting.

I haven't seen the image in colour however I do agree, the duotone look does produce a striking effect. I like the texture in the sand balanced against the silvery glow of the water.
