[ Toyota Supra seats | Stanza seats | coupe dash ]

Toyota Supra seats:
Ken has a pair of Toyota Supra seats in his Datsun 1200 coupe. They are very comfortable seats, and if you want, you can even get electrically adjusted ones.

They are fairly easy to install. The rails are about 15mm further apart than the 1200 seat rails, but they can just be bolted to the floor brackets after redrilling new mounting holes in the floor brackets. The rear rail mount may require some modification before it can be bolted to the floor bracket.

Stanza seats:
Jason has installed Stanza seats in his 120Y. Firstly, swap the sliding/rack assembly from the 120Y seats onto the Stanza seats. It's exactly the same as the 120Y, except that the Stanza has a different mounting arrangement - the front bolts down rather than sideways.

The Stanza seats are about an inch wider, and Jason used the existing middle rail as the reference, and drilled the seat mounting rail on the chassis to accomodate the outer ones.

He says the Stanza seats are much more comfortable, and are cloth.

Datsun 1200 coupe dash:
It is possible to install a 1200 coupe dash into a 1200 sedan, wagon or ute. You might want to do this, as the coupe dash has a tacho built into it.

It is important to note that the main rear connector on the dash is wired differently in the coupe than it is in any other 1200s. I'd recommend buying a Gregories workshop manual, so that you can rewire the main connector so that it will work correctly with a coupe dash.

Chris Stamellos tells me that you can push out all the pins in the connector using a small nail, and then push them back into the correct location.

The only additional work required is to run two cables in series to the coil.
