While going through some older photos, I found a few more suitable candiates for digitally tilt-shifting. The tilt-shift effect on this photo makes the shipping containers at the Brani Terminal look like tiny lego blocks.

The Pulau Brani island is located between Sentosa Island and the Singapore mainland, in Keppel Harbour. This photo was taken from a lookout on Sentosa Island.

Edit: for information on applying a simple tilt-shfit effect, check out these sites: I have also previously posted a more detailed Tutorial for Realistic Miniaturised Photos describing how to use more advanced techniques to create more realistic miniaturised photos.

I like it :) I've been considering actually buying a tilt shift for some time but boy they aren't cheap :(

I have done this once in photoshop and it is a great technique. Love your shot, looks great with the containers looking so little, perfect composition.

The effect is so cool! looks just like a toy scale model!
thanks for sharing!

Great photography work example using the tilt lens. It's an important lens to have when you are in the service. Plying the photograpy arena as a singaporean photographer, these lens help with the framing and composition. Thanks for sharing.

I've taken a number of photography works around the terminal ports. Shooting using a tilt lens such brings about a new perspective. The photos look really intense as the focus is on the container. Heard that these lens are expensive but definately an important asset for any Commercial Photographer.

The use of this type of lens provides a another focus perspective and makes photography so much more interesting.

Great post! It really gives a whole different perspective of an ordinary Marine port.

I am a professional photographer working at Pixsync, and we specialize in professional aerial photography and corporate photography services.

We will appreciate if you could take some time off and take a look at our portfolio. Thanks

Great picture. I expect to see a model train rolling past!

I have a 17mm tilt-shift lens (magnificent for wide shots like interiors and buildings that you can't step back from), but I wouldn't reccommend it for this type of photography - it just doesn't seem to create this effect as well as say the 90mm tilt shift lens does.
