Kwinana Beach
Kwinana Beach, Western Australia GoPro HD Hero2 (suspended from a kite, tilt-shift effect simulated digitally)
I revisited some aerial photos that I
took
with my GoPro camera suspended from a kite at Kwinana Beach a couple of years ago,
and applied a
tilt-shift effect
to make it look like a miniaturised model.
I have previously published a
tilt shift tutorial,
describing how to achieve this effect in Photoshop.

We recently spent a few days in Mandurah during the school holidays.
This is the view we had from the 5th floor of the Atrium Resort Hotel in Mandurah,
with a tilt-shift effect applied digitally.
The tilt-shfit
effect causes the photo to look like a miniaturised model.
That's Peel Street coming from the bottom right, and then Mandurah Terrace runs from
the bottom left to the top right of the photo,
and the white building on the right hand side is the Mandurah Visitor Centre.

This is another photo tilt-shifted using the technique described in
Faking Tilt-Shift - a Tutorial for Realistic Miniaturised Photos.
This is the famous Busselton jetty, which is the
longest wooden jetty
in the Southern Hemisphere, and is apparently one of the most photographed man-made structures in Western Australia.
This photo was taken from the top of the Jetty Point Lighthouse, and
the tilt-shift focus point was set as being the blue buildings that make up the Interpretive Centre.

While going through some older photos, I found a few more suitable candiates for
digitally tilt-shifting.
The tilt-shift effect on this photo makes the shipping containers at the Brani Terminal look like
tiny lego blocks.

This is another photo tilt-shifted digitially in Photoshop to make it
look like a miniature model.
I've previously written about

This photo was taken at a holiday house in Mandurah a couple of years

The Narrows Bridge and South Perth, digitally tilt-shifted to make it look like a miniaturised model.
On the lower left is the Narrows Bridge over the Swan River, with the Kwinana Freeway snaking its way into
the distance on the right hand side.
Note that you should view the large version (by clicking on the image below)
to properly appreciate the tilt-shift effect.
